At PSS we know how hard it can be for Social Workers to find beds at short notice, particularly at 5pm on a Friday afternoon!

We are able to offer emergency beds from as little as twelve hours. This means that the social worker can continue looking for a long term placement, but be safe in the knowledge that the young person has a bed until this placement can be found.
Our beds can be booked for twelve, twenty four or seventy two hour periods. The seventy two hour beds cover the weekend period from 5pm on a Friday until 9am on a Monday, which means that placements can be looked for after the weekend.
Obviously we do offer longer term beds, and this can be done by further discussion on a case by case basis. Similarly if the emergency placement works, we could also offer a permanent placement in one of our foster homes.
